As a UI engineer, working on a small team with Lars as our designer was exactly what you hope for. An experienced experience visionary who’s not afraid of challenging and championing standards and taking ownership of code, Lars worked to align with engineering on implementation strategies that understand that the way we design things can be essential to the way we build things. I enjoyed our time together and would consider myself lucky to be able to work with him again!

Lars knows styling, approaching the subject from both an architectural and engineering standpoint.... [he can] iteratively improve existing style systems, using deep engineering knowledge required to drive a styling engine. At WellSky, he helped shape the color architecture of our Atlas design system. He built its layered model of reference, tonal, weighted and system tokens, and kept it in line with the Figma library. He brought our spacing and sizing scales into the core token library so they could serve as the single source of truth... he wrote production Angular himself. He built status chips, an alert message component, and table checkbox and link cells, plus a reusable selection directive with full documentation and a migration guide. Lars is an artist, a scientist and a tinkerer. If you need someone who can make abstract, deep styling decisions, speak to executives about the big picture, and speak to engineers about today's drive to get to the big picture all in one day, you need Lars.

I worked with and taught Lars for at least three years. He's a bright, imaginative and thoughtful designer. With an eternally positive disposition, I and others who worked with Lars found him consistently to be a pleasure to work with. I recommend him.

Lars is a true thought leader ... He propelled our teams to successful and timely delivery to the delight of leadership and ultimately our customers. What I like most about Lars is how personable and patient he is when working through iterative planning-always listening and finding the right user experience to fit challenging use cases.

He is the kind of designer who always has ideas for how things can be improved, and a lot of those ideas ended up leading to real changes in the product... One thing I especially appreciated as an engineer was how involved he was in the implementation. He didn’t just hand off a design and move on. When we were testing designs, he would actually look at the code and try to understand how things were built, which made working together much easier. Lars is also just a great person to work with. He is easy to talk to, always open to discussion, and genuinely cares about making the product better. He has a lot of ideas, a great eye for details, and I’d be very happy to work with him again!

Lars is a skilled and thoughtful designer with a keen eye for usability. He isn't afraid to jump into complex problems and always asks clarifying questions... Lars brings strong design skills via owning the end-to-end design process, collaborating cross-functionally with peers, connecting with users to perform design research, and thinking systematically about his design solutions.
